If it’s a long project, consider requesting a washing machine, a dishwasher, or a smart TV. If you and your team are going to have to share this house for weeks or even months, you are going to want far more than what is offered in a hotel. It’s tricky to know what your team is willing to compromise on and what they aren't, so it's a good idea to get some anonymous feedback from them to take into consideration.

The closer your team is to each other, the easier it will be for them to live together (even temporarily), so it’s worth investing in building their interpersonal relationships. You can arrange some activities before the project you are preparing for or use the benefits of all being in one place to have some quick game/quiz nights while living together. It will likely also improve their ability to work together during work hours as well, so it’s a win-win.

There are plenty of low-budget ways to do team-building activities during work hours, such as a quick team vs team quiz or teaming up to build something from paper. You can also meet after work to play some team mini-golf, have a football match, or do a pub quiz. A good activity you can do at the serviced house is to work together to solve a mystery-solving game. Even activities that aren’t team-based can build relationships.

Make sure all of your team members have a clear written guide to the trip, key dates, and addresses. It's easy to think just telling them will be enough, but it’s likely someone will have forgotten or confused dates. Additionally, it’s a good idea to keep organised at your accommodation. It makes sense to assign people to certain bathrooms and make schedules for when people get to use the kitchen. It’s also a good idea to set some rules and arrange who has what household responsibilities. This all helps prevent arguments and keeps responsibilities from falling on one person.
